As a Mechatronics Technician, you will work at the interface between mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and control technology. You will combine knowledge and skills from various fields. Your work in the company will therefore be varied – whether it’s at a production facility or in various service areas.

Apprenticeship 2025 - Plastics and rubber technologist (m/f/d)

These days, almost nothing works without plastic. The Heitkamp & Thumann Group produces plastic parts for spray heads of inhalers that dispense asthma/COPD medication and other health products. As a process mechanic, you produce these special moulded parts from polymer materials. You set up the production machines and monitor the production process.

Apprenticeship 2025 - Tool mechanic (m/f/d)

When it comes to tools, many people still think of screwdrivers or pliers. Well, those are certainly useful things! As a Tool Mechanic, however, you will work with special tools for the area of series production. This is an area in which complete accuracy and precision work come first. You will master the most important machining processes and will therefore be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the tools as well.

You therefore have the opportunity to shape your path through various internal and external training programmes both during your apprenticeship and after it. For example: Forklift truck licence and / or crane driver’s licence, Welder training, Master craftsman school, University studies, Various subject-specific courses and training programmes

Marsberg

With 550 employees, the Heitkamp & Thumann Group is a major employer in southern Westphalia. The Marsberg location has an innovative production and development centre. Among others, cups for batteries, inhalers for drug administration and precision tools are all developed and manufactured here. At present, 39 young people are being trained in technical occupations at the Marsberg location. H&T Battery Components, H&T Presspart und H&T Tool Design are the three companies at our location in Marsberg.

Crimmitschau

At our location in Crimmitschau, approx. 20 km from Zwickau, currently 100 employees are working for H&T ProduktionsTechnologie. This location has specialised in the development and construction of metal forming tools, machines and highly automated production equipment for users within and outside of the Heitkamp & Thumann Group for more than 60 years. In this respect, we focus on: “There’s no such thing as that won’t work!” Together with our customers, we develop and research innovative ideas. At present, tools, machines and systems for the automotive sector such as side parts for seats, tank recesses, side rails and roof frames are manufactured here.
